Use words you remember from the day

You may forget the date but remember writing about ‘the bookshop where we escaped the rain.’ Search ‘bookshop’ before scrolling through months. Unlike visually browsing an album, this approach begins with words you recorded.

Results represent dated entries, not individual image files. Distinguish similar titles using calendar names, dates, and text previews. Open a result to inspect its photos and full text before deciding it is the one.

Enter at least two characters from Home search

A single character is not treated as a complete text query. If a one-character query produces nothing, try a word of at least two characters before concluding the entry is missing. Free users can currently search across multiple calendars too.

  1. Tap the magnifying glass at the top of Pogaem Home to open Entry Search.

  2. Enter at least two characters likely to appear in the title or body, such as ‘bookshop,’ ‘lunchbox,’ or ‘first swim.’

  3. Check calendar names, dates, and text previews in results.

  4. Open a likely result and inspect photos and notes in entry details.

  5. If many results look similar, use the filter beside the search field to narrow calendar or dates.

Choose specific recorded words over vague feelings

Repeated words such as ‘nice’ can produce many candidates. Start with distinguishing food, activities, or a place name you actually wrote. Memory of an event and its recorded wording may differ, so try a short word first.

For a pool visit, try ‘swim,’ then a plausible alternative such as ‘water play.’ Do not assume automatic matching of every synonym. Change the word and date range separately to see which clue worked.

Search does not read words inside photos

Typing a dish name does not find every photo showing that dish. Pogaem searches recorded information such as titles and contents. It does not recognize sign text, faces, or objects for search. A visible name absent from your notes may not be found by that word.

If you remember the scene but left no text clue, browse the album. If an ordinary-looking photo has a memorable note or conversation, text search may work better. Choose based on whether your clue is visual or verbal.

Check words and scope separately when no results appear

Check spelling first, and reduce a long sentence to one distinctive word. Then inspect filters for old calendar or date selections. Resetting filters leaves the keyword, so check the search field separately when broadening to all entries.

Leaving a shared calendar or deleting entries changes what can be found. Results also depend on records reflected on this device; if a new entry from another device is absent, check connection and sync. Empty results differ from a loading-error message.

Leave one useful search word in future notes

Instead of elaborate prose, naturally include a word you might recall later. ‘Waited for the rain to stop at the neighborhood bookshop’ supplies context and a search clue beyond ‘A lovely day.’ Repetition of the same keyword is unnecessary.

If you often revisit a result scope, save the current search. This reduces repeated keyword and filter selection; it does not copy or back up entries. The related guide below explains saved searches.

Frequently asked questions

Why does a one-character query not find entries?

Text search begins at two characters. Try a more specific word or use calendar and date filters if only one character comes to mind.

Can I search by faces or words inside photos?

No. Entry search uses recorded information such as titles and contents, without image-text or face recognition. Use the album if you remember only the scene.

What opens when I tap a result?

The entry's detail screen opens with photos, videos, title, and text. Results are whole entries rather than individual photos.
