Inspect the actual outgoing copy
Names and places natural in a private calendar may be unnecessary in a public image. Open the actual calendar image, video, or document you plan to upload instead of briefly reviewing the original entry. A monthly output can reveal patterns across days that individual photos did not make obvious.
To preserve the diary, prepare and edit a separate public copy. This avoids deleting original context or overwriting important details during sharing preparation. Pogaem's private visibility and an external uploaded file's audience are separate settings.
Enlarge background text as well as faces
If details need obscuring, create a new copy with your editing tool and reopen the saved result. Confirm that changes seen in the editor actually reached the file. Do not assume Pogaem automatically finds and removes such information.
Check faces and name tags. If public sharing has not been discussed, ask the people involved first.
Look for readable addresses and contacts on packages, mail, and receipts, including desks and floors behind the subject.
Check school or company names and entrance numbers that identify everyday locations.
Inspect ticket barcodes, QR codes, and booking numbers. Unfamiliar codes are not automatically safe to publish.
Check mirrors, glass, and screen reflections for unwanted people or documents.
Read included titles, notes, and dates
An address hidden in the image may remain in the note. Review the title, body, calendar name, and displayed dates together. Different outputs include different text, so trust the actual saved file rather than what you remember usually seeing.
Multi-day outputs can connect recurring school or work travel times and frequent locations. The question is whether those details serve the sharing purpose. A document sent to an acquaintance and a public post may need different context.
Check exported metadata separately from app location settings
Pogaem's Location & Map settings display or remove location information managed by the app. Turning them off does not guarantee removal from phone originals or previously created files. Metadata can differ by output type and export method.
If locations matter, inspect the actual file's information and sharing options. Do not label it completely anonymous based on unchecked assumptions. The app lock protects opening Pogaem on your device; it does not lock every image you send elsewhere.
Confirm recipients and account just before posting
Recipients can retain copies after transmission. Deleting the source entry or post later cannot be assumed to retrieve all copies, so the pre-send check matters. Creating an output in Pogaem and publishing it elsewhere are separate decisions.
Select the reviewed sharing copy, not the original. Open the preview again if filenames are similar.
Check every selected photo, not only the first. Play videos through the middle and end as well as the opening.
Confirm the destination app and account, and whether this is a private message or a public post.
Review recipients, audience, and any added caption for names or addresses you may have reintroduced.
After posting, inspect the visible result. If unwanted material appears, check the destination's editing or deletion options.
Distinguish public copies from archival material
Keep only needed scenes in the public copy and preserve original context in the archival record. Naming files ‘for sharing’ with a creation date can reduce accidental reuse of the wrong file. A filename does not set permissions or encryption.
Recheck even a reused output when its audience changes. Material suitable for close family may not suit a public blog. Decide who should see what this time rather than rushing through a memorized checklist.
Frequently asked questions
Is hiding faces enough for safe public sharing?
That cannot be guaranteed. Name tags, addresses, barcodes, background documents, and notes may still reveal information. Inspect the whole final output.
Does turning off Pogaem locations remove all exported location data?
Check app location settings and external-file information separately. Do not assume every original or export format automatically removes metadata.
Does an image made from a private calendar stay private outside the app?
No. Its visibility depends on the receiving service, account, and audience. Check sharing scope again before posting.
