Share existing records without rebuilding the calendar

You may want to share a previously private travel or child-growth calendar with family. Pogaem's conversion preserves existing photos and notes while making the calendar shared, without requiring a new calendar.

Others do not join automatically when conversion finishes. Send a link or code from the invitation screen afterward; the recipient must accept before contributing.

Conversion works in one direction only

There is no feature to convert the shared calendar back to personal. The confirmation explains that photos and notes remain but the conversion cannot be undone.

If you only want to send a few photos once, consider whether converting the whole calendar fits. It is more naturally suited to ongoing photos and text from several people.

Convert the calendar

  1. Open the personal calendar you want to share and go to calendar details.

  2. Under Shared Calendar, select Convert to Shared Calendar.

  3. Review that existing photos and notes remain and the change is irreversible.

  4. Run conversion and wait for completion.

  5. Use the following invitation screen to send a link or code to the people joining.

Check connectivity and upload progress

Shared membership and permissions are managed on the server, so conversion requires internet access. Offline attempts display an unavailable notice.

Pending cloud photo uploads may delay conversion. Wait for the calendar's uploads to finish and retry so the existing records and new sharing permissions remain aligned.

Convert without a calendar creation limit

All plans, including Free, allow unlimited personal and owned shared calendar creation. Before converting, check the owning account and cloud synchronization status, and manage photos within the owner's plan storage allowance.

Invitees and owners have different roles. The converting account retains owner-only tasks such as calendar settings and deletion, so use an account suited to long-term management.

Review the shared scope after conversion

Once invitations are accepted, active members can also see existing entries. Before conversion, inspect the entire calendar for photos or notes unsuitable for that audience.

Members can individually adjust new-entry and comment notifications. The owner manages calendar settings, while each participant configures device notifications per calendar.

Frequently asked questions

Does conversion delete existing photos or notes?

No. They remain in the shared calendar. Newly accepted members can also see those existing entries.

Can I turn it back into a personal calendar?

No. Personal-to-shared conversion cannot be reversed. Review the entire calendar's audience before proceeding.

Can I convert offline?

No. The server must establish the shared calendar and permissions. Wait for any pending photo uploads to finish before retrying.
