What does the home screen widget show?
The widget displays your selected active Pogaem calendar as a monthly grid, with a representative scene on dates containing photos. Tapping it opens the linked calendar, shortening the path to reviewing recent entries and filling the next day.
The widget does not read a separate online album. The app checks changes to calendars, photos, and day covers in its local database, prepares a widget summary, and passes it to the operating system.
How to add the widget to your home screen
Sign in to Pogaem and make sure your calendars are visible before adding the widget, so there are entries to choose from. Menu names differ slightly between iOS and Android, but the overall steps are the same.
Open Pogaem once to check your login and the calendar you want to display.
Long-press an empty area of your phone's home screen and open the add-widget menu.
Find Pogaem's photo calendar widget and place it on the home screen.
Choose the calendar you want to see often in the widget settings.
Tap the calendar in the widget and check that the same calendar opens in Pogaem.
The widget follows changes to your entries
Saving, editing, or deleting photos, creating calendars, and changing calendar names all rebuild the widget summary. Several changes made in quick succession are briefly grouped into one update showing the latest state, so the widget may change slightly later than the app screen.
Changing a day cover also triggers an update. To change the scene shown in the widget, first check that date's cover photo.
If the widget is empty or shows an old photo
If the widget is empty, open Pogaem and first check your login and selected calendar. Give the app a chance to prepare an updated widget summary, then return to the home screen.
When you are logged out, the widget does not retain the previous account's entries.
If the selected calendar was deleted or you no longer belong to it, select another calendar.
If photos are current in the app but the widget is delayed, open Pogaem and return to the home screen.
If changing the widget's size or settings does not help, try adding the widget again.
Widgets and entry reminders serve different purposes
A widget brings memories into view more often, while entry reminders notify you on chosen days and times. You do not have to open the app daily, but using both can help if you often forget to record.
Both features have device-specific setup, so check each again on a new phone. Add the widget to the new home screen and set the reminder days and times on that device.
Start with one calendar you want to see often
Begin with the calendar you most want to keep filling. Instead of keeping several projects in mind, give this month's most frequent subject, such as pets, child growth, or exercise, a place on your home screen. Empty dates become easier to notice and fill.
Frequently asked questions
Does the widget change immediately when I add a photo?
The app detects photo and calendar changes in its database and rebuilds the widget summary. Consecutive changes are combined into one latest-state update, so the widget may lag slightly behind the app.
Where does tapping the widget take me?
If the selected photo calendar is valid, it opens that calendar. If the calendar cannot be found or the link information is invalid, Pogaem opens Home.
Do photos remain in the widget after I log out?
No. Logging out or clearing account data also clears the previous account's widget summary so private entries do not remain on the home screen.
