For storage cleanup, check cache first
Clear Cache and Reset Data sit together in Pogaem's Data Management, but their scopes differ greatly. Cache contains reproducible temporary files; data includes the calendars, photos, and entries you created.
Using Reset Data merely because phone storage is low removes original records too. Check cache size and cloud usage before selecting the appropriate action.
What clearing cache removes
Clear Cache removes files left in temporary directories during photo capture or media processing. As the app explains, saved photos and entries are unaffected.
Files currently used by the operating system or another task may not all disappear at once. A nonzero remaining cache size does not indicate deletion of your records.
Clear temporary cache
Open Data Management in Pogaem settings.
Check the displayed cache usage.
Tap Clear Cache and read the notice that photos and entries remain.
Run cleanup and check the cache size again.
What resetting data removes
Reset Data is not temporary-file cleanup. It deletes owned personal and shared calendars and their entries, including photos and videos, from the server, then clears related local content, widget images, and scheduled reminders.
Cards, photos, videos, and comments you contributed to shared calendars owned by others may remain for the remaining members. Precise locations of retained media and your location-sharing consent are removed.
The action cannot be undone and requires typing RESET exactly. Account, login, subscription, and app settings remain, but no recovery bin is provided for deleted content.
Cloud usage and device cache are separate
Clearing cache does not reduce the space used by cloud photo originals. A full cloud gauge and growing temporary phone files concern different storage locations.
Review cloud usage in Data Management. To reduce cloud storage while retaining needed memories, first create backups, then separately decide which calendars or media to delete.
Choose according to your situation
Use Clear Cache to reduce temporary files left after app processing.
Do not run Reset Data if you want photos and entries retained.
If starting over while keeping the account and subscription, consider Reset Data after backing up.
If removing the account too, review Account Deletion separately.
Frequently asked questions
Will clearing cache delete my Pogaem photos?
No. It removes temporary-directory files while keeping saved photos and entries.
Does clearing cache reduce cloud usage?
No. Local temporary cache and cloud original storage are separate. Check cloud usage under Data Management.
Can photos be recovered after resetting data?
Owned calendars and their photos are deleted from server and device and cannot be recovered. Contributions to others' shared calendars may remain, with precise locations removed from retained media.
