When you remember the author but not the date

Suppose you want last summer's swimming video from a family calendar. You may remember the calendar, author, and presence of video without remembering the title. Combine author and media filters instead of repeatedly guessing words.

Pogaem entry search offers calendar, member, media, and date-range conditions. Filters work without a keyword, so untitled entries can appear too. This search scope is currently available on Free, Lite, and Premium.

Find a family member's video entries

This scenario illustrates the filters. The actual member list depends on authors of records you can currently access. Check the calendar as well as the name to avoid selecting the wrong person.

  1. Tap the magnifying glass on Home to open Entry Search, then tap the filter button to the right of the search field.

  2. Select the family calendar. Selecting none searches all accessible calendars.

  3. Choose Video under media and select the author from members. Your own entries are identified as My Entries.

  4. Choose a likely start and end date under Date Range, then apply the filters.

  5. Read result dates and contents, open a record, and check the video. If absent, widen the date range first.

The photo filter does not mean photo-only entries

Photo matches entries containing photos; Video matches entries containing videos added directly. An entry containing both can appear in either search. Filters do not change the media inside an entry.

To find text-only entries, leave media set to All. Photolapse outputs made from photos are not treated as directly added videos for this search. If a video seems missing, distinguish an originally recorded upload from a later generated result.

Album capture dates can differ from entry-search dates

The album centers on photos and filters by their capture dates. Entry search uses the date of the containing entry. An old photo added to today's reflection, or an entry whose date you moved, can therefore fall into different ranges.

If a summer photo appears in an autumn reflection, use the album to find summer capture dates and entry search for the autumn text. Different results are not automatically omissions; first check which date you selected.

Relax conditions one at a time

Combining calendar, author, video, and dates may narrow too far. Widen dates first, then remove the author condition. Finally, set media to All to check whether a remembered video was actually a photo entry.

Reset clears calendar, author, media, and date conditions but leaves the typed keyword. Clear it separately to see the full scope. A single entered character may not act as a text condition, leaving the selected filters to determine results.

Distinguish searching a name from selecting an author

Finding text that mentions someone differs from finding entries they wrote. The author filter identifies the creator. Mentioning a relative in another person's text does not change the entry's author.

If you revisit a filtered scope often, save the current search with a descriptive name such as ‘My videos in the family calendar.’ Saved conditions are a shortcut to rerun a query, not a copy of the entries.

Frequently asked questions

Can I filter by author or period without a keyword?

Yes. Select calendar, author, media, and dates without entering text. If no results appear, relax conditions individually.

Why does a photo-filtered entry still show a video?

The photo filter matches entries containing photos. Entries with both photos and videos qualify, and their detail view shows the included media.

Why are some records still excluded after resetting filters?

The typed keyword remains after reset. Check it when reviewing the full scope. Deleted entries and those you can no longer access are not searchable.
