Decide why you want to turn locations off

Temporarily avoiding the map differs from no longer wanting capture locations stored. Pogaem offers Hide from Map and Delete Saved Locations separately. They leave different information behind, so choose the intended outcome first.

If you want to view a travel diary only by date, consider hiding display. If you want to remove capture locations from your uploads within Pogaem's location information, review deletion scope. You need not delete photos or entire entries first.

Check the calendar under Location & Map

The main switch can affect several calendars. To change only one travel calendar, verify its name and use its individual switch. Distinguish personal and shared calendars with similar names.

  1. Open Location & Map in Pogaem settings.

  2. Choose whether to disable all location-photo display or only one calendar in per-calendar settings.

  3. When turning off an enabled switch, read the Hide from Map and Delete Saved Locations explanations.

  4. Make your choice and confirm the completion notice.

  5. Reopen settings and calendar photos to check the intended scope. An error message does not mean completion.

Hiding from the map retains location data

Hide from Map disables display while retaining location information. Disappearing from the screen does not mean saved coordinates were erased. Distinguish a break from map browsing from removing the stored information itself.

In shared calendars, do not equate your display preference with deletion of everyone's information. To remove already-shared capture locations, review the deletion scope below. Hiding cannot erase material others have already seen or saved separately.

Deleting saved locations applies to your uploads

Delete Saved Locations removes saved locations from photos and videos you uploaded in the selected calendar and turns off location use. The photos and videos remain. You can therefore keep landscapes and family photos while removing their locations.

Your setting does not delete locations from other members' uploads. Calendar ownership does not expand this personal setting to everyone's media. If another member's location information concerns you, discuss it with that author and check each person's settings.

Check device originals and external copies separately

This setting concerns location information managed by Pogaem. It does not delete locations from device-gallery originals or files previously downloaded and sent elsewhere. Review those copies' metadata and visible contents separately.

House numbers, shipping addresses, and school names in an image are independent location clues. Deleting location data does not remove visible text, so enlarge photos before publishing. Preparing and editing a separate sharing copy helps preserve the original clearly.

Check reversibility and completion before deleting

Unlike hiding, location deletion should not be treated as a temporary display change. Turning it back on later is not guaranteed to restore every deleted location. Confirm the calendar and whether date-only browsing will meet your needs.

Changing settings requires a connection. If a failure message appears, do not assume the requested state took effect. Recheck with a stable connection and contact support if results remain unexpected after completion. Describe the calendar type, chosen action, and message without publishing sensitive coordinates.

Frequently asked questions

Does hiding from the map erase saved locations?

No. Hiding keeps location data and disables map display. Review the separate Delete Saved Locations option to remove stored information.

Does location deletion also delete photos and videos?

No. It removes saved locations from your uploaded media while retaining the photos and videos. It differs from deleting an entire entry.

Can a shared-calendar owner delete everyone's locations here?

No. This personal setting targets media you uploaded, not a bulk deletion of other members' locations.
