What does a six-digit PIN protect?

The PIN adds a barrier when someone tries to open Pogaem on an already unlocked phone. It helps prevent your photo diary from opening immediately when you briefly hand the device to family or a colleague.

A PIN locks app access; it does not mean all stored data is end-to-end encrypted. Keep the device's own screen lock and operating system updates in place too.

Set the PIN per device, not per account

Pogaem's PIN applies to an individual device. Viewing the same entries on another phone does not automatically bring over the old device's PIN setting.

When changing phones or using several devices, check the lock on each one. Assuming security settings synchronize along with entries could leave the new device unlocked.

How to set a six-digit app lock PIN

  1. Open App Lock in Pogaem settings.

  2. Choose a six-digit PIN that others will find difficult to guess.

  3. Enter it again to confirm it accurately.

  4. Reopen the app and check that the lock works as intended.

If you forget the PIN, check cloud saving first

Pogaem does not provide a bypass that resets only the lock without knowing the current PIN. Tap Forgot PIN on the lock screen and first check synchronization for photos or entries that remain only on this device.

After the app confirms that all items are saved to the cloud, delete and reinstall it, then sign in to retrieve your entries. Deleting before saving completes can lose local-only photos and entries, so follow this order.

Changing or disabling the PIN requires the current PIN

To change the PIN or turn off app lock in settings, first enter the current six digits. A new PIN is saved after two matching entries, so canceling during input or a failed save leaves the old PIN in place.

After several incorrect attempts, you must wait for the time shown on screen before trying again. Carefully consider the PIN you remember instead of repeatedly guessing numbers.

Manage app locks and sharing audiences together

The PIN limits who can open the app on your device, but does not change access for people already invited to a shared calendar. For sensitive entries, check both the device lock and which calendar and audience you chose.

Managing device security, the Pogaem PIN, and sharing recipients separately gives you clearer control over where your photo diary is exposed.

Frequently asked questions

How many digits does the Pogaem PIN have?

Pogaem's app lock uses a six-digit numeric PIN. During setup, you enter the same number again to confirm it.

Does my Pogaem PIN synchronize to other devices?

No. It is a device-specific setting, so set it again on a new phone or another device.

How do I recover access if I forget the PIN?

You cannot reset only the lock without the PIN. Verify that cloud saving is complete, then delete and reinstall the app and sign in. Deleting before saving can lose entries stored only on the device.
