Remove One Photo or Delete an Entire Photo Diary Entry

Edit an entry to remove one image while keeping its text and other media. Whole-entry deletion removes everything together; check permissions and downloads first.

Decide between one image and the whole card

Removing one photo leaves the title, text, and other media. Deleting an entry targets everything grouped on its card. The similar-looking actions therefore have different scopes.

Before choosing deletion, check for words or other photos you want to keep. The current screen has no immediate restore button for deleted entries.

Remove one photo

  1. Open the entry details and select Edit from the more menu.

  2. Remove the unwanted photo from the media list.

  3. Check the remaining photos, videos, title, and text.

  4. Tap Save Changes to confirm the removal.

Delete the entire entry

  1. Open the target entry's detail screen.

  2. Select Delete from the upper-right more menu.

  3. Read the confirmation's photo and video counts and note-deletion scope.

  4. Confirm deletion and check that the card disappears from the date view.

Text can remain after every photo is removed

If a title or body remains after removing all photos and videos in editing, you can save a text entry. A card is not automatically deleted merely because it has no media.

An entry with no media, title, or text cannot be saved. If you want nothing retained, use whole-entry deletion rather than repeatedly trying to save an empty edit.

Check shared entries and needed originals before deleting

Deleting a shared-calendar entry also removes it from participants' views. Available menus depend on writing permissions and current membership, so do not treat this as unrestricted cleanup of other people's records.

Download any photos or videos you need separately and verify them in the device gallery first. Deleting immediately after a partial-download failure may leave you without necessary originals.

Frequently asked questions

Does removing one photo delete the whole diary entry?

No. Remove one image in editing and save; the title, text, and other photos and videos remain.

Can I keep only text after deleting every photo?

Yes. An entry with a title or body can be saved without photos or videos.

Does whole-entry deletion affect shared members too?

Once deletion succeeds in a shared calendar, that entry disappears for participants too. Review the media and note scope in the confirmation first.
