How much can a PDF contain?
You can create a PDF for free; downloading the file is available with Lite and Premium. Each export can contain up to 30 entries and 120 photos. Both limits apply, so days with many photos may reach the photo limit before you reach 30 entries.
Instead of squeezing months or years into one document, split your entries by month, trip, or growth stage to make the files easier to find and reread.
Videos are not included in PDFs
A PDF is a document for reading and keeping photos and text, so it does not include videos. If your selected entries contain both photos and videos, the PDF alone does not preserve the original videos.
If you also need to keep videos separately, consider a ZIP backup alongside the PDF. The two outputs serve different purposes; creating a PDF does not mean all original media has been preserved.
Steps to export a PDF
Choose the calendar and date range to collect into a document.
Check that your selection does not exceed 30 entries or 120 photos.
Review entries for notes without photos and any important scenes that are missing.
Start the PDF export and keep the app and device available until it finishes.
Check whether the completion notice reports photos that could not be loaded.
Open the finished PDF and check the first, middle, and final pages, along with the photo count.
Split long records using consistent filenames
When creating several PDFs for different periods, choose filenames that make their order obvious. Putting the year and month first, as in `2026-01-parenting` and `2026-02-parenting`, keeps them in chronological order in device and cloud folders.
Use the detail you will later search for: a date range for trips, a session number or month for exercise, or a child's age in months for growth records. Name files for the moment you need to find them again.
Always open the finished document
A PDF may be created even when some photos cannot be loaded. In that case, the completion notice and the document show a missing-photo count. Those photos are excluded, so compare the PDF with the original entries.
Do not stop at the message saying a file was created. Open the PDF and check the notes you need, the photo order, and the final entry.
If you plan to share the document, review whether its contents are appropriate for the recipients. A photo diary can collect many personal details in one place, including locations, schedules, and family faces.
PDFs are for reading; ZIP files preserve your materials
A PDF is a document suited to browsing and printing a photo diary. A ZIP is a backup for keeping a personal calendar's photos, videos, and notes together. Your choice depends on whether you need videos or a document that is easy for someone to read.
For important entries, you can prepare both for different purposes: a PDF for viewing and sharing, and a ZIP for keeping the underlying materials.
Frequently asked questions
How many entries can a photo diary PDF contain?
Each export can include up to 30 entries. A separate limit of 120 photos also applies.
How many photos can I include in a PDF?
One export can contain up to 120 photos. Even with fewer than 30 entries, you may need to split the date range if there are too many photos.
Does a photo diary PDF include videos?
No. Videos are not included in PDFs. To preserve videos too, consider a separate ZIP backup of your personal calendar.
What should I do if the PDF completion notice reports missing photos?
Photos that could not be loaded are excluded from the PDF. Compare the finished document with the original entries and check that those photos also remain in another backup.
